If you’re a Colorado local you’ve probably heard of Aly Warren, the ‘It Girl’ for lashes at Denver’s Salon Posh. A native of Miami, Florida, Aly migrated to the cool, crisp mountain air of Boulder, Colorado while pursuing a degree in Psychology. A chance encounter at Nieman Marcus led her down a new career path when Chantecaille Cosmetics snapped her up to represent their line at the high end department store. She was instantly thrown into the world of beauty and makeup artistry while working to manage and grow the line. She perfected her skills with frequent classes from beauty bigwigs like Chanel and Yves. Soon she was being asked to apply makeup at weddings and photo shoots on the side. Wanting to further her career, Aly strategically decided to add skin care skills to her growing portfolio. She left Nieman’s to gain more diverse experience by working for Greenhouse Spa as an Assistant Manager and later, Sanctuary Day Spa. Mineral makeup pioneers Glow Mineral Cosmetics were so impressed with Aly when they visited Sanctuary that they immediately whisked her away and moved her to Scottsdale, Arizona to represent their exclusive line. It was in Arizona that Aly discovered her passion for lashes. In the course of meeting with Glow Mineral clients she found Dr. Johnyee Beasley, a trainer for Xtreme Lashes®. After working with Johnyee on several occasions and seeing her apply the extensions, she decided this was something she had to do. “Lash extensions were already a big thing in Arizona,” she recalls, “but they hadn’t taken off in Colorado yet.” Having already determined that her future lay in Colorado, Aly booked a one on one Xtreme Lashes® training with Johnyee in August 2007, shortly before heading back to the place she now calls home. “My goal was to become the ‘It Girl’ for lashes in Denver,” she says. Immediately on her arrival back home, Aly started her own business, Lash Envy, specializing in Xtreme Lashes®. After a prominent hairdresser caught wind of her work, Aly also became affiliated with the prestigious Salon Posh, applying lashes there four days a week. She explains how she, “just worked really, really hard,” and says, “The last three months it has just boomed. I’m doing 5 or 6 full sets a day. It’s awesome!” She’s now the ‘It Lash Girl’ for numerous local celebrities including News2 Weather Anchor Angie Austin, 9 News Meteorologist Becky Ditchfield and Actress and Playboy Model Amy McCarthy, sister of actress Jenny McCarthy. Aly admits her current success allows little time for anything else, but she’s not complaining. She loves the feeling of helping others feel more beautiful. She says she owes much of her success to, “Really listening to what the client wants and the lashes really staying three weeks. I feel I found my calling! I want to be the Lash Queen of Denver!” She extends her beautifying outreach efforts to several charitable organizations, too. Her lash services have been donated to support the Susan B. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation, the March of Dimes and Hinotes Heroes.
