The Atlanta Journal Constitution called him the “Lash Master” but passersby will note the sign on the door at Style Eyes clearly says “Lash God”, a tongue-in-cheek homage to Stylist Jeffrey Steibel’s passion for lashing. After his initial Xtreme training in 2007, this Detroit native took the Atlanta lash world by storm when he migrated south the following year. His edgy style, offbeat personality and technical savvy have proved to be just what the Atlanta crowd was searching for.
Jeffrey started doing makeup for Chanel Cosmetics at only 18 years old and quickly expanded into esthetics with a love for facials, waxing and, “all that other stuff”, as he puts it. His makeup and beauty work at some of the top salons and spas around Detroit often included lash clusters, which eventually led him to seek out information on individual eyelash extensions. After researching various lash extension companies over the course of a year, and convincing his salon owners to give it a “part-time” go, Jeffrey booked a spot in the May 2007 Xtreme Lashes Detroit training. “I love that Xtreme requires so much training and has all the products to back it up. Xtreme is the only company that has so much and offers the quality and choices of lashes. I think when you just begin you don’t really understand how a little different curl and a little different length makes such a huge difference.”
In 2008, Jeffrey left Detroit winters behind and headed south to Atlanta for a change of scene and weather. He went from styling lashes part-time to the full-time headlining Lash Stylist for a local spa, adding this as a new service to their menu. “I really started working on perfecting my skills and focusing on that. I’m really motivated to stay on top and if I’m doing something I want to be the best at it. I want to help set the standards for the industry.” To help him attain his elite stylist status, Jeffrey returned to Xtreme Lashes and enhanced his skills with an Xtended Training in May 2008 and Advanced Training in April 2009.

In May 2009, Jeffrey launched Style Eyes with the dream of pursuing even greater success, this time on his own terms. “When I moved down here I knew I didn’t really want to work for a salon. I really want to set the standards and I felt the only way to do that is to take control.” Bucking the trend of typical spa-like serenity, Style Eyes boasts an edgier environment with a more urban feel, complete with sparkling disco ball. Services were also revamped to focus on giving his clients “the princess experience” they deserve.
At Style Eyes, princess clients coming in for re-lashes can choose from one of two unique, full-service options. Jeffrey’s Signature Re-Lash is an hour long experience that includes a warm-neck wrap and lip treatment. Clients can then upgrade to a Royal Re-Lash, an hour and a half long event, and enjoy the addition of a hand treatment and eye-gel treatment. For those with a long-term lash addiction, there’s also the Lash Facial, recommended every 6 months, which involves a super deep cleansing of the lashes, an eye treatment, eye area massage and a reset of all lash extensions back to the 1mm mark.
Referrals make up the vast majority of new clients coming through the doors at Style Eyes and retail sales add a lot to the bottom line. Jeffrey has been a top-five Xtreme Lashes retailer for over a year. “I believe in the products I carry and when you believe in the things you sell, I think clients sense that and trust it.” He spends time educating his clients about ingredients while he has them on the table to enable them to make informed purchasing decisions when they’re done. “They’re investing money in their lashes and the right products are insurance,” he says.
Jeffrey’s clients love his unique approach to lash services and the care he puts into ensuring every princess gets the royal treatment. He can also count the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Jessica Shops and Lucky Magazine among his fans. In his downtime, Geoffrey hits the Atlanta nightlife scene for fun and says he tries to, “stay out of trouble.”
His long-term goal is to expand his business and keep building up his clientele. “I would love to do an actual storefront with a team of awesome, awesome lash stylists. I look at lash extensions as a whole new separate industry just like doing hair. This is the new thing and it’s not going anywhere. My advice to new Stylists is to just stick with it. I would not be doing nearly as well as I’m doing without doing lash extensions. If you just critique your work and get into it, it will take care of you.”
