As a professional lash stylist, your client\u2019s safety should be the number one priority at your salon or spa. In addition to following the safety procedures outlined in your eyelash extensions training<\/a> for proper lash application techniques and any local regulations, here are five safety measures you can use during your lash application services to ensure you provide the safest care possible for your clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Conduct a Patch Test<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    When appropriate, you may elect to apply one pass of lashes (about 10 extensions per eye) using the same length and diameter as the client’s natural lashes. Ten lashes per eye allows you to gain meaningful insight without affecting the client’s looks. You don’t want them to leave the consultation with anything noticeable during the test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Follow up with your client 24 and 48 hours later. If the client isn\u2019t experiencing any adverse reactions and you both agree, you can proceed with a full application using the adhesive you tested with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If in doubt, DO NOT proceed with the application and refer your client to their medical provider.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
