How do I prevent my client's eyes from watering? Is it because of my adhesive?

The most common cause of watering is incorrect under eye patch position. Check your under eye patches every 15 minutes to ensure that it hasn't moved and made contact with the conjunctiva. Under eye patches should always remain 1 mm below the lower eyelid margin throughout the entire application.
